Our baby, the bell pepper

Kevin:
We are now in Week 18 of the pregnancy. It seems that most books and web sites about pregnancy love to compare the size of the child to some sort of fruit or vegetable. We've progressed through poppyseed, lentils, and blueberries, past grapes, figs, and limes, and beyond apples, avocados, and turnips. We're at the bell pepper stage now.

I think it's time for a system of comparisons geared towards men: hex nut to washer to golf ball/poker chip to shot glass to hockey puck to baseball to softball.

That sounds much better, doesn't it? Our child is the size of a softball.
