2-month update

Allie had her 2-month appointment a couple of weeks ago and is officially growing like a weed! She weighed 12 pounds and is 23 inches long. We are following an alternate vaccine schedule, so she only got her DTaP shot at that appointment. She did great with it and had little/no reaction.

Tiffany started back to work on January 5th and is still working half days. She goes to work at 6:45 and is home by 11:30 each day. On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Kevin's schedule allows him to stay home with Allison during the time that Tiffany is at work and go in to school in the afternoon. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, Kevin stays with Allison until 8:00 when Tiffany's mom, Lynne, comes to play with her grandbaby. It's been working out perfectly for everyone - Tiffany feels good about going back to work, Kevin gets some alone-with-Daddy time, and Nana gets to see her granddaughter twice a week without interruption!

Allison is still an exclusively breastfed baby and eats every 2-3 hours each day. Tiffany has been able to pump at work and is currently rocking a freezer stash of about 150 ounces of frozen milk. Allie is a pro at the bottle and switches between the pacifier/the bottle/the breast with no problems at all.

Each night, around 7:15, we start Allison's bedtime routine (bath, book, nurse, and rock to sleep with lullabies). She's usually in bed no later than 8:00. She sleeps most nights until about 3:30 when she wakes up, gets a new diaper, nurses, and goes back to sleep. In the mornings, she gets up to nurse when Tiffany gets up (5:30)and goes back to sleep for a short snooze before waking up for the day around 6:30 or 7:00.

Overall, Allison is a great baby. She's very laid-back, easy to please, and happy. She has just started reaching out to bat her toys and thinks this is great fun. Her smile is infectious and we're waiting not-so-patiently for her first laugh. I think we've decided to keep her!
